Online Ping Test
What is a Ping Test?
Ping sends ICMP echo request packets to a target host and measures the round-trip time (RTT) for each. It shows you whether the host is reachable, how long packets take to travel there and back, and whether any packets are lost along the way.
Results shown here are measured from our server in Frankfurt, Germany. Latency to hosts closer to Europe will naturally be lower than hosts in Asia or the Americas.
How to Use This Tool
- Enter any IPv4 address, IPv6 address, or domain name in the field above.
- Click the button 4 ICMP packets will be sent to the target.
- Results show packet loss, min/avg/max RTT, and target IP details.
- Use "Show raw output" to see the exact ping command output.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I get 100% packet loss?
Many servers and firewalls block ICMP echo requests for security reasons. 100% packet loss does not necessarily mean the host is offline it may simply not respond to ping.
What is a good ping?
Under 20ms is excellent (local/regional). 20–100ms is good. 100–200ms is acceptable. Over 200ms is high latency and may affect real-time applications.
What is mdev?
Mean deviation a measure of how consistent (stable) the latency is. Low mdev means consistent RTT. High mdev means jittery network performance.
Does this support IPv6?
Yes enter any IPv6 address and the tool will automatically use ping6.
